Original yellow cloth decorated in black in checkerboard motif on boards. Author served in 24th Kentucky Infantry during the Civil War, and was a poet of some reknown. Book is lightly soiled and worn outside, and has a thumb-sized hole through one preliminary leaf. Leaf-patterned endpapers. Interior clean and easily-readable.
