His best friend, a novelist named Kogito Choko, discovers the suicide via one of forty audiotapes that Goro recorded and sent to him. Written by Kenzaburo Oe, a Japanese writer and a major figure in contemporary Japanese literature who was awarded the 1994 Nobel Prize in Literature. Translated by Deborah Boliver Boehm, a journalist, travel writer, editor and the former editor of Eastwest magazine. With the original publicist release from Grove Press. Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
