Carte De Visite Leather Album Austro-Hungarian Aristocracy By Viktor Angerer Photostudio

Budapest, Hungary, 1871. Heavy and ornately embossed brown leather album with brass clasps ( missing the hinges) and the date 1871 as well as fancy lettering embossed on cover. The album measures 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches and is 2 1/2 inches thick. All edges red. A stunning collection of 31 posed studio portraits of ladies of the Austro-Hungarian aristocracy. The photographs measure 7 x 4 inches and are mounted on 8x 4 inch photostudio cards. Most of the photos were taken by Photographisches Atelier Viktor Angerer, Wien , Theresianumstrasse 4 some other ones originate from Josef Borsos (Kirudvari Pesten), Ellinger Edition Photoanstalt Pest ( Hungary) as well as Walery (Nice). All the photographs are labeled on the album page in beautiful black ink pen to identify the sitter.
