Cedar Rapids, IA: Writers' Club of Coe College, 1929. Pamphlet. 24 pp., illustrations, wraps. 8.25 x 4.5 in. Includes ads for local businesses. Covers soiled; edge wear. Poetry by students and alumni of Coe College. Paul Engle, then a sophomore at Coe, was assistant editor, and this issue includes his cycle of sonnets "Better than Granite." Predates the author's first book by three years. Engle was the director of the Iowa Writers' Workshop from 1941-1965 and made considerable contributions to its prestige and reputation. Scarce; only two locations for this serial in WorldCat as of May 2023 (both in Iowa).
