He may have pushed too far in 1992 with this Supplement. Since it was his intention after all, the models came across as "Teenage Lust"-underage (they were legally, adults) at a time when abstinence and celibacy had become the norm in the Age of AIDS. Still, it's the kind of inventive mass-media merchandising Calvin Klein pioneered and became known for, generating tremendous press coverage and consumer attention for himself and his eponymous brand, and revolutionizing the way the fashion industry does advertising.
