This is a vintage cookbook, "Buttercup Hill Tea Room Recipes" by Charleen J. Baker. 1935 1st edition; The Barta Press; Cambridge, MA. Hardcover. The recipes are grouped into the following categories: Appetizers; Soups; Vegetables; Meats, Chicken and Duck; Breads; Salads; Desserts; Cakes; Sunday Night Supper Dishes. There is an Alphabetical Index at the back. Baker was the proprietor of the Buttercup Hill Tea Room in Lunenburg, MA from 1928 to 1943.
Condition:
Light soiling to the covers. There is a 2" tear at the top-left corner of the spine, and a 1" tear at the top-right corner of the spine. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Nice interior - the pages are lightly age-toned and mostly clean with only some very light foxing on the title page and end papers, and a tiny stain at the outer margin of pages 4 & 5. The upper-outer corner of pages 16 & 17 have torn away. There are a few small stains at the top and bottom edges of the text block. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition.
