Book was published posthumously and relates the story of a Quaker youth who relocates from Maine, marries into money and becomes a banker. He stays true to his faith, unlike his children. Blue cloth covered boards has gilt text on spine and author's monogram blindstamped on front panel, top edge dyed. Spine is sunned to tan and spine ends show slight wear. Text block is as new with slight age toning. Bookseller's Inventory # 241995.
