Toronto: Contact Press, 1956. Undetermined. very good. 1st Edition. [8] 9-49pp. Octavo. Beige card covers with red and black illustration and lettering on front cover, with black lettering on spine. Wrappers lightly worn at edges and spine with some light soiling and rubbing. Small grease stain on spine and light crease to top right corner of the front cover. Glue marks from where seeped from binding onto first page. Clean tight text block with only light wear to outer edge. A very nice copy. very good Signed and inscribed on the first page in blue ink. Inscription reads "Irving Layton to Abe [....] Cote St. Lue, Que. Jan. 25th 1957". A book of poetry by the Romanian-born Canadian poet. Layton was later nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for Literature in 1981, awarded the Governor General's award in 1959, and made an officer of Canada in 1976. He was also the first non-Italian to be awarded the Petrarch Award for Poetry. 1956
