Dust jacket has edge ripples that may be too fine to be seen on the scan xvi+494pp+large fold-out map that is bright and imopeccable+2pp. Book is like new although it has an owner inscription inside front board. The book was first published in 1929. This is the first reprint and includes list of subscribers. Large number plates and of in-print illustrations. Large pull-out map of Parish of Bromley is pretty-well pristine perfect. The appendices list rectors/vicars of Bromley from 1226; an inventory of church goods; list of benefactions and treasurers; list of parliamentary elections from 1832. Book starts with pre-history, thru Domesday, Medieval, Tudor, Stuart, Early georgian periods. Manor and palace; Parish church and other churches; Bromley College; surroundings; local gov't; sports/games. vast number of illustrations. Large pull-out map of parish from the 1862-1868 Ordnance Survey. Map is impeccable. A truly magnificent piece of research in excellent GIFT condition. Note this is NOT the cheaper and smaller edition that was published later on.
