Libby in the Maine Historical Society library, the history of the Cumberland and Oxford Canal, records of the Trustees from 1899 to 1957, etc. Photos of some of the founders, a beautiful shot of the Chapel on a winter's night. 200 years ago the whole region around where Bridgton Academy now stands was a wilderness. No white man lived here. The nearest stettlements were on the coast or close to it and they were open to frequent and frightful attacks from Indians. Soil on binding, taped, heavy edge wear, library markings, one page taped. .
