Red cloth with black and gilt decoration to the front board and black decoration to the spine. illustrated with black and white frontispiece and plates. Some light shelfwear and a touch of browning to the outer page edges. Previous owner's signature in pencil across the half-title page. Last signature started but the binding is sound.
