Lansdowne. foreword by The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, introduction by author, list of drawings, bibliography and index. Green coloured endpapers. The text is illustrated with 48 full colour illustrations of American birds, of the West Coast, followed by 48 pages (the yellow coloured pages) of preliminary drawings for the illustrations, all done by J.F. Lansdowne. Buckram covered boards with gilt embossed titles to the front panel and backstrip. Foxing to the buckram at the book edges. Light age toning of the textblock edges and of the internal text. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by J.F. Lansdowne, with blue (two toned) coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Drawing of artist to the rear fold over panel . A little creasing to the dustwrapper edges and rubbing it to the dustwrapper panels. The major damage has been fading to the dustwrapper. 48 colour plates of North American birds from the West Coast done by the artist J.F. Lansdowne. Size: Folio (over 12" tall ).
