Illustrated with forty-four colour plates, sixty-seven black-and-white plates, and many in-text images. Collated complete. A detailed study on various insects of the British Isles, with chapters on humble-bees, cuckoo-bees, social wasps, sand wasps, solitary bees, ants, gall-flies, and more. With wing maps. Wayside and Woodland Trees: A Guide to the British Sylva, 1942. New edition. Illustrated with twenty-four colour plates, one hundred and fifty-one half-tone plates, and many in-text figures. Collated complete. A guide to British sylva, with keys to individual species of trees and shrubs. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrappers are also smart with light wear and minor chipping to the extremities. The odd small closed tear and light sunning to the spine. A 2" closed tear to the front joint and a 3" closed tear to the rear joint of Wayside and Woodland Trees, sympathetically repaired with tape to the internal side. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
