Toronto: McClelland and Stewart, 1966. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. 8vo. Pp. 243. Black cloth with blind stamped image to the front board and gilt spine. The corners and spine ends lightly bumped and the cloth rubbed, and the gilt to the spine very dulled. Dust jacket with several creases and small nicks o the edges, lightly chipped corners, and the front flap splitting at the top and bottom. This copy from the library of Canadian poet and GG award winner, Eli Mandel, inscribed to Eli Mandel from Leonard Cohen. With some pencil underlining, and some ink underlining to only a few lines on a few pages, done by Mandel. A nice association copy and early Cohen signature. First Canadian Edition.
Sinopse
Beautiful Losers is a novel by Leonard Cohen. Published in 1966 by McClelland and Stewart, it was the Canadian novelist-poet's second novel, and precedes his career as a singer-songwriter. It is noted as being perhaps Cohen's most defiant and uninhibited work, and is also one of the best-known experimental novels to be published during the 1960s.
