Baby Doll by Hollie Overton starts on November 11, 2015 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Lily Riser cannot believe he actually left the door unlocked. I found Baby Doll to be a slow paced and predictable novel. I had a hard time liking any of the characters (I felt bad for Sky). The book is easy to read, but there is foul language and graphic scenes. I kept hoping for something more (a twist), but the novel plodded along to the expected ending. Abby rebelled in the typical ways, the mother sleeps around, poor Sky is scared and hides (as expected). The story is told from the various character's point-of-view including the kidnappers. I give Baby Doll 2 out of 5 stars (I did not like it). The story needed a faster pace and scary OMG moments that has the reader enthralled. Instead, I could have cared less what happened to any of them which made it hard to finish this book. The characters come across as juvenile (rebellious teenagers), and the story reminds me of a bad telenovela.
