London, Cambridge: J.G. Parker and J. Deighton, 1851. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). First Edition. 8vo. Harrow school prize binding. pp xii 361, the crest of Harrow School to the front pastedown signed by B. H. Drury. Pp.361. Contemporary full polished blue calf prize binding by Crossley & Clarke, Harrow, with extensive gilt decoration to the spine, red spine label, gilt tooling to leather edges. All edges marbled to match end papers. Binding very good with a little rubbing to edges and joints. Contents clean and tight, Harrow School prize plate to Roberto Cobb dated 1854 and signed by the author B H Drury to the front paste-down, otherwise no inscriptions, paper clean and bright without foxing. An interesting copy that would make a fine gift. Provenance [B.H. Drury 1812- 1963 was a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, educator, he was later ordained; his father was Henry Joseph Thomas Drury (1778 -1841 tutor to Lord Byron and Headmaster of Harrow School ].
