Sobre este item
Ancient world aeah Akurgal, Ekrem. The art of the Hittites. New York: Harry N. Abrams, 1962, 315 pages, illustrations, plates (some color), map, plans, notes, bib, index. 174 plates in total, 24 plates in color, rest in black and white. The book is in good to very good condition with some minor ruffling to bottom page corners at the back of the book. One will notice that the text pages have toned somewhat, most noticeable when juxtaposed with the bright, glossy plate pages. The dust jacket is present but just fair, I'd say. Large and heavy volume. $21.50 Box 27 Contents: I. The Hattians; II. The Early Historical Period; III. The Hittite Old Kingdom; IV. The Period of Empire; V. The Late Hittite Period. Jacket blurb states: "In this volume the art of the Hittities is presented at full length and in all its beauty. This is an important publishing achievement, for the monuments and sanctuaries of the Hitttite Empire --- in the region where Turkey is today --- are virtually inaccessible to most of us, and the cultural objects are mainly to be seen in the museums of Ankara and Istanbul".
