Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1926. First edition. hardcover. Near Fine. Firts edition. Hardcover in red cloth lettered in gilt. xxiv+ 176 pp. Illustrated with photographic plates. A tight, near fine copy, wear to one tip andspine lettering very slightly duller. No jacket. Linton Wells (1893-1973) was an American journalist and author. He gained fame as a foreign correspondent covering the Russian Revolution. In the mid-1920s, working for the Associated Press, he became known for his particpation in long-distance excursions in inlcluding one as a stowaway on a leg of a round-the would flight by the U.,S. Army, the first non-stop automobile trip betwenn Los Angeles and New York, and the then-fastest circumnavigation of the earth , the subject of this memoir.
