Sobre este item

New York: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1876 . Cloth. Very Good. 8" by 5.5". Not Stated. A very extensive, illustrated travel guide from the nineteenth century, by E. D. G. Prime. In the publisher's original green cloth binding with gilt lettering. Reprint. First published in 1872. Written by E. D. G. Prime, presenting his travels of one year, going from New York across America, then heading to Japan, India, Jerusalem and Florence, before heading back to New York. With many other stops in between. This whistle-stop tour was taken by a variety of steam-trains and steam-ships, which accounted to a total of seventy-five days of his trip. With numerous vignettes throughout. With a stamp of 'The Bequest of the Rev W. Urwick 1905' to the title page. William Urwick was a nonconformist minister and antiquarian chronicler. In the publisher's original green cloth binding with gilt lettering. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to the joints and to the extremities. The odd marks to boards, moreso to the rear. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with the odd spot to the first and last pages. With a stamp to title page. Very Good
