Sobre este item

Boston: Fields, Osgood, 1870. First edition. Hardcover. Fair. Higginson was the white colonel charged with organizing and leading a slave regiment in South Carolina. Green cloth boards with gold lettering on spine. Brown endpapers slightly cracked at gutter but binding is tight. Several pages have brown stain (coffee?) at bottom corner up to 3 inches but not into the print. Cloth at top and bottom of spine is frayed and a few white stains are on front board. A barely visible name and 1881 date are written on the dark brown front free endpaper. Scarce original edition.
