Sobre este item

New York : George Braziller, 1975. Cloth. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8.5" by 5.5". W. R. Lethaby. A very smart edition of this study into architecture, linking mysticism to the design process. First published in 1891. Illustrated with frontispiece and thirty in-text figures. Collated complete. Linking mysticism to the architectural design process, with reference to the microcosmos, the jewel-bearing tree, the planetary spheres, the labyrinth, pavements, ceilings, and windows, and much more. Written and illustrated by William Richard Lethaby, an English architect and architectural historian. From the library of Doctor Malcolm Higgs, an important architectural historian who worked as an assistant architect to Stirling & Gowan, working on their particularly renowned Leicester University Engineering Laboratory. During his long career he taught at the University of Edinburgh School of Architecture, Canterbury School of Architecture, and University of Nottingham. Later in his life he was the Vice-President and Honorary Librarian of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and contributed and edited the "Journal of Architecture". In the original black cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning to the endpapers. Near Fine
