Light wear and a few old mars to the vinyl jacket protectors, some endpaper show mild foxing, the original brown cloth binding and the text printed on clay-coated white paper are very bright and clean; a tight and clean copy in near fine condition.. Pp. (vol. 12): 1-241, (4, index), (65, supplement); (vol. 13): pp. (4, ads), 1-220, (47, supplement); (vol. 14): pp. 1-307, (3, index); vol. 15: pp. (2, ads), 1-354, (4, index); (vol. 16): pp. 1-540, (4, index); (vol. 17): pp. (8, ads), 1-338, (2, index); vol. 18: pp. (2, ads), 1-254, (88, supplement); (vol. 19): pp. 1-192; (vol. 20): pp. 1-192; (vol. 21): pp. 1-160; (vol. 22): pp. 1-144; (vol. 23): pp. 1-144; (vol. 24): pp. 1-96; (vol. 25): pp. 1-24; numerous illustrations. This set is uniformly bound in contemporary brown pebble cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, with a clear vinyl jacket protector for each of the 16 volumes, lg 8vo (10 x 7 inches). Volume 1 of this journal was first issued in 1915. The run of the journal offered here begins with volume 12 issued in 1928 Volumes 12-23 each contained 12 numbers (no. 1-12) sold monthly by subscription. Volume 24 has only 8 numbers (no. 1-8). Volume 25 contains only 2 numbers (no. 1-2). The final part of this journal was issued in January 1942. At that point, due to WWII, the journal ceased to be published. Three supplements accompany this work. Bound in at the end of volume 12 is "Diseases of Aquarium Fishes," volumes 17-18, no. 10-17, 65 pages (1934). At the end of volume 13 is "Fish Foods and Feeding Methods," volume 17, no. 4-9, 47 pages (1939). Finally at the end of volume 18 is "Progressive steps in amateur Fish Culture (Exotique)," volume 16, no. 1-12, 88 pages (1932-1933). Publication of a second series of Aquatic Life and the Aquatic World, not offered here, commenced in 1951. This second series is being offered separately. No ownership marks and few signs of use. This is a large and heavy set - extra postage will be required especially if sent to Canada or Europe.
