Page edges darkened with age, previous owner's name on the first page, second page quite offset tanned, foxing to the title page, foxing to the second last page and offset tanning to the last page. Binding is sound, however it has lost colour on the spine. This is a "translation of a" biography from the 14th century, and the lead character's object was to relate the process of her own salvation. What had kings Olympic queens to do with that? She does not even mention the Peasants' Revolt of 1381, one of the most dangerous internal upheavals the ruling class in mediaeval England had ever had to face. The highlights of history are not her subject. She tells us, in detail, what it was like to be an eccentric mediaeval woman. No other author does precisely that." Page 12.
