Small 8vo. original black backed blue cloth (bookplate & prev. owner's details to front endpapers, exposed cloth edges a little rubbed & faded) in dustwrapper (mismatched, edges worn with loss to extremities); pp. [ii], 314, with 3 color-gravures, 24 plates, 6 text maps & a colour folding mapsheet. A very good copy, this copy in a slightly smaller, double-sided dustwrapper from the book club edition. [Neate H74: One of the great landmarks in mountaineering, breaking a psychological barrier, not unlike the first 4-minute mile]. Inscribed on FFE 'Best regards, M. Herzog'.. Signed by Author.
