Sobre este item

London: Offices of the Royal Historical Society, 1968. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine. 9.5" by 6". Not Stated. A first edition copy of Sawyer's famous annotated bibliography of Anglo-Saxon charters. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Stamp to the front paste down. The historian Peter Sawyer (1928-2018), whose work on the Vikings and Medieval England was very influential, is particularly known for this annotated catalogue of Anglo-Saxon charters. These charters are catalogued by "Sawyer" numbers (with the abbreviation 'S'; e.g. in charter "S 407"). This work is No. 8 of the series 'Royal Historical Society Guides and Handbooks'. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, a little fading to the boards and spine, which are otherwise in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Near Fine
