Sobre este item

London: Routledge & Kegan Paul Limited, 1950. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Good. 7" by 4.5". None. The first U.K. edition of the important philosophical work of George Gurdjieff, in the original dust wrapper. The scarce to see first U.K. edition. In the original unclipped dust wrapper.'All and Everything' collects together George Gurdjieff's best known philosophical works, this volumes being the first series he planned of three. This work includes three books under the title of 'An Objectively Impartial Criticism of the Life of Man', or, 'Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson'.It is Gurdjieff's aim in this work "to destroy, mercilessly, without any compromises whatsoever, in the mentation and feelings of the reader, the beliefs and views, by centuries rooted in him, about everything existing in the world".Gurdjieff was an important philosopher and spiritual teacher, his teaching known as "The Work", and referred to by his student Ouspensky as the "Fourth Way". In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Light marks to the boards and spine. Cloth to the front joint is a little cockled. Minor bumping to the extremities. Dust wrapper is edge worn with some chips and closed tears, chips heavier to the head of the spine and front wrap, and to the folds to the flyleaves. Light discolouration and handling marks tot he wraps. Spine is a little sunned. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. The occasional ink underlining to the text. Very Good Indeed
