Film in a lustrous, almost dreamlike color, about a young working class married couple, where the man's secret affair with another woman leads to his wife's suicide. Time Out Film Guide (2000): "Varda is trying to explore on film the kind of romantic areas that have so often….been the exclusive province of male film directors."

"French-Swedish 1966 film by Agnès Varda that recounts a story of a couple who have just moved to a new town and been in a car accident.
