First Edition, First Issue. Octavo, etched frontispiece, vignette title page, rustic type at head of page 1, 38 plates, wood-engraved vignettes and initials in the text, all after Thackeray, the Marquess of Steyne woodcut on page 336. Published by Bradbury & Evans (London), 1848.
Finely bound in a later Cosway-style blue full morocco by Bayntun Riviere in Bath with their binder's signature to the front turn-in, the upper cover with inset hand-coloured oval portrait of Thackeray under glass, triple rule gilt border to covers, incorporating copious gilt foliate devices, spine separated into compartments by five raised bands finished in gilt, four containing gilt foliation, all edges gilt, turn-ins with gilt fillets and decorative gilt corner-pieces, marbled endpapers, red morocco gilt bookplate of W. A. Foyle, Beeleigh Abbey to front pastedown, two blue silk bookmarkers.
The binding is in fine condition. Internally, there is toning to some of the plates and occasional light spotting; near fine.

A large aquatint with bright contemporary hand-colouring, beautifully mounted, framed and glazed, ready for presentation, 435 x 590 mm. Published by Benjamin Read (London and Broad Way, New York), 1836.
A truly stunning print, in fine condition, which would enhance the appearance of any room.
Benjamin Read was a professional tailor and demonstrated savvy business acumen by creating high quality prints of his stock, enabling the effective promotion of his business. Read's Regency fashion prints were in essence a highly successful advertisement, and by setting his subjects in fashionable venues, in this case the Colosseum in Regent's Park, he was able to nurture the idea of an association between his tailoring and high society.

A black and white full length portrait photograph of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the Royal couple wearing Orders and decorations, taken at Buckingham Palace in 1960 by Anthony Buckley, Signed in ink on mount "Elizabeth R 1963" and "Philip", 29cm x 21.5cm, unframed, a little toning; near fine.
The original owner was presented with the signed photograph in his capacity as an Engineer for the British Airways Overseas Corporation on the March 1963 Royal Flight. The Photograph is accompanied with the Royal Flight menu for Perth-Sydney-Fiji-Honolulu-Vancouver-London, March 1963.

Small 4to (24.5cm*18.5cm), a folding card from 1962, featuring a wonderful family photograph of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip with their three children (Prince Edward was born two years later in 1964) in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Signed and dated by Queen Elizabeth II as "Lilibet", additionally signed by Prince Philip, with a printed Christmas and New Year greeting, two gold embossed crests to the front, in near fine condition.
From 1959, Christmas Cards sent by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were almost always signed using autopen. It is very rare to encounter a Christmas Card hand signed from after 1959, and rarer still hand signed "Lilibet" by Queen Elizabeth II; a nickname only reserved for those closest and dearest to her late Majesty.
