New York: Workshop of Graphic Artists, 1948. Reprint. A pamphlet reporting on a 1931 trial staged by the Communist Party, USA, in New York, in which one of its members, August Yokinen, was charged with white chauvinism for advocating the expulsion of three black workers from the Finnish Workers Club in Harlem. Following an introduction by Jim Allen, the pamphlet includes Proceedings of the Trial, Speech of C. A. Hathaway, Prosecutor for the District Committee of the Communist Party, U.S.A., Speech of Richard B. Moore, Attorney for the Defense, Statement by August Yokinen (translated from Finnish), Summaries by Moore and Hathaway, and the jury's verdict. The jury of 14 CP members voted to expel Yokinen from the Party until he could sufficiently demonstrate his opposition to white chauvinism. London: Britons Publishing Society, 1961. First printing. This booklet combines a lecture given by George at Dartmouth College in 1956 (Human Progress and the Race Problem) and his pamphlet, "Race, Heredity and Civilization." The publisher's forward addresses a British audience and the "major colour problem in Britain." George's consistent thesis was that biological racial differences exist, that racial separation is the best way to isolate and promote these differences, and that integration of the races will ultimately lead to a breed of man incapable of maintaining a viable civilization. Wesley Critz George was a notable UNC-Chapel Hill professor, but an indefatigable segregationist and white supremacist who was the driving force behind the Patriots of North Carolina, a group committed to resisting school desegregation. Los Angeles: Pacific Publishing Company, 1936. First edition. The penultimate work by Joseph Widney (1841-1938), physician, religious leader, historian, and educator, in which he outlines the "growth of the Man Spiritual in his efforts to keep pace with the Man Industrial and the Man Intellectual" (p. xi). Part I. contains a survey of different racial groups and their migrations, comminglings, degrees of civilization, and racial death; Part II. explores the Race Religions of these various peoples. Widney employs the word ‘Race' in the most generic sense, and unlike many of his peers was not a supremacist. He wrote admiringly of the contributions and traits of blacks, Hispanics, and other peoples. Widney was a physician during the Civil War before moving to Los Angeles where he spent the rest of his 96 years. He was the second President of USC, and a dominant medical, religious, civic and cultural leader who ceaselessly promoted the history and future of Los Angeles. Otto, NC: World Center Church of the Creator, 1991. Racial Loyalty, which was "dedicated to the survival, expansion and advancement of the white race," was the organ of Ben Klassen's Church of the Creator and his racial religion, Creativity. Founded in 1973, in 1982 Klassen moved his organization from Lighthouse Point, Florida to the small town of Otto, NC, and the first issue of Racial Loyalty was published the following year. Each issue focused on outlining Creativity's tenets and its importance as an anti-Christian, white racialist religion capable of returning the white race to greatness and superiority. Fischer's lecture was meant to be more scientific than political, although the implications of differentiating between the racial composition of Jews and Northern Europeans under National Socialism is obvious. A report by CPUSA General Secretary, Gus Hall, on the "all-important need for white America to battle to overcome the dehumanizing racist ideology in its own self-interest and in the interest of world peace" (p. 1, Introduction by Henry Winston and members of the Black Liberation Commission, CPUSA). New York: The Feminists, 1969. A theoretical exposition by the Feminists' founder and primary theorist on what drives women toward radical feminism. Five 11" x 8 ½" sheets mimeographed from typescript, 8 p of text. Scarce, like all other Feminists' documents. Six copies held in institutional collections via WorldCat. Light wear and scuffing.

Seattle: Radical Women Publications, 1973. A position paper from the first women's liberation group in Seattle, which begins with a 17-page preamble on the history of women's oppression, the status of women under both capitalism and socialism, feminism as class struggle vs. sex struggle, reform versus revolution, etc. This is followed by the group's 14-point platform and their organizational structure and principles. Seattle Radical Women was founded in 1967 as a composite of Old and New Left activists and was initially influenced by the Freedom Socialist Party (the two groups formally affiliated in 1973). The focus on a Leninist ideology ultimately resulted in the defection of many New Left women in 1968 and the founding of two new groups, the Women's Majority Union and Women's Liberation-Seattle. Ann Arbor / Detroit: Radical Education Project, 1967. Approximately half of all published issues of this SDS-initiated newsletter established as a forum for non-student radicals entering or working in professional fields while remaining committed to social justice and community organizing. Published in the wake of the Radicals in the Professions Conference, which was held in the summer of 1967 and organized by the Radical Education Project, the newsletter reflected the New Left's attempt at institutional capture. Articles addressed radical organizing in education, the legal profession, the labor movement, the military, etc. while also covering anti-racism organizing, the feminist movement, and the class struggle. Published irregularly between 1967-1971, it appears that 10 issues were published under the name Radicals in the Professions and 11 issues as Something Else! Post-De Leon propaganda from the SLP encouraging railway workers to embrace socialism and thus "extricate themselves from the vicious circle of capitalist chicanery, growing out of capitalist exploitation.

A critical history of Bareilawi'ism, including biographical information on its founder, Ahmad Raza Bareilawi, his works and writings, and the sect's beliefs, creeds and teachings. The book concludes with a chapter on the Bareilawis' takfir of Muslims and the dissemination of their "fairy-tales" and superstitions. Stony Brook, L.I., N.Y.: Red Balloon Collective, [1971]. Tabloid format printed in black on newsprint, 12 pp, illus. An unnumbered but early issue of the irregularly published organ of the Red Balloon Collective, a radical student group at SUNY Stony Brook described by founder Mitchel Cohen as an "anarcho-marxist direct action group." The paper allegedly started in the fall of 1970 and by 1992 only 23 issue had been published; it later became the Red Balloon Discussion Bulletin. Content for this issue includes a long article on the death of George Jackson by the one-time SUNY professor, Jonah Raskin, who became involved with the Weathermen and Yippies before settling down as a successful writer penning books about B. Traven, Abbie Hoffman, Jack London, Allen Ginsberg, and others. [Australia?]: n.p., [194-?]. A scathing anti-Communist poem "dedicated to the rip roaring recruiting agents in the Communist Party who would conscript others but stay at home themselves." The poet, the unidentified "W.J.C.", accuses the leadership of the Australian Communisty Party, such as Lance Sharkey, Elliot V. Eliot, and Ernie Thornton, of urging others to fight against the Japanese while avoiding the war themselves ("We have heard you're short of diggers / Who would rush to stop a Jap, / So we'll volunteer as urgers, / Though we don't fight we can yap"). He also criticizes Prime Minister John Curtin of the Australian Labor Party of being soft on Communism ("Now the A.L.P. has promised / To lift the Commo ban") and of enacting conscription. Content for this issue includes a long article titled, "The History of All Hitherto Existing Class Systems Has Been the History of Women's Oppression," a reprinted Enver Hoxha speech delivered at the 2nd plenum of the Central Committee of the Party of Labor of Albania in June 1970, a profile of Mrs. Kang Ban Sok, a Korean feminist and revolutionary, an article on city-run daycare centers, and a reprinted article by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Dinh, Deputy Commander of the South Viet Nam People's Liberation Armed Forces.
