Printed in an edition of 1,000 copies.

Adams and Day's paper outlines their discovery that, when illuminated with a candle, that selenium produced a flow of electricity. Current solar panels and other solar charged equipment like desktop calculators were built off this principle. Also contains John Tyndall's "Further Researches on the Deportment and Vital Persistence of Putrefactive and Infective Organisms from a Physical Point of View" (pp. 149-206). v, 756 pp. 31 plates. 4to. Recent brown three quarter leather bindings with five raised bands at spine, burgundy title patch with gold embossed titling, gold lines offsetting bands, decorative stamp in each compartment without titling, blind embossed borders to front and rear boards. Table of Contents has a horizontal tear mid-page on p.[v], triangular piece missing from lower right corner of p. 163. Interiors clean. Numerous folding plates that illustrate articles. Pages were trimmed slightly when rebound.

Pyotr Lebedev (1866-1912) used a very sensitive experiment to confirm Maxwell's prediction of the radiation pressure of light, and announced the finding at the World Physics Congress in Paris. viii, 876 pp. 8vo. Recent brown three quarter leather binding with dark leather spine and corners, four raised bands at spine with gold tilting. Interior clean with the only indication of ex-library being the "Withdrawn" stamp on the title page. Text in German.

In republishing the designers were attentive to the imporatance of design and typography to the original German production in getting Moholy-Nagy's ideas across and replicated as best they could in this production. An important book by an important member of the Bauhaus. First Edition of the English Translation. Scuffing to dust jacket from shelf wear, the number "5" written in blue ink at base of front dust jacket flap, jacket now in mylar cover. Black cloth boards with silver embossed titling to spine, small bump at base of front board. Clean within.

The slipcase is in Good condition with scuffing and wear and a split along the top seams. Printed wraps enclose the loose signatures of this production. The signatures are in excellent condition with interleaving over each illustration.

Marble paper boards, red cloth spine with gold titling has minor sunning at head and foot of spine where missing portion of dust jacked allowed the lightening, clean within. Brown paper covered slipcase has slight chipping at edges, wear, but in Very Good condtion.

Heavily illustrated with photographs of the community, or particular note is the work by Eliel Saarinen (1873-1950) who designed many of the buildings and interiors and was affiliated with Cranbrook from 1925 until his death in 1950 and also served as president. Cranbrook produced both notable faculty and alumni including Harry Bertoia, Richard DeVore, Charles Eames, Ray Eames, Waylande Gregory, Florence Knoll, Daniel Libeskind, and Eero Saarinen. 47, [1] pp. 4to. Brown paper wraps with soiling from age, chipping at edges. Title page has staining at edges as does the rear first free endpaper, clean within.

A fascinating set of conversations between Torosian and Paul Caponigro (b. 1932), the renowned photographer, supplemented by many of Caponigro's most iconic images. Signed in pencil on the half-title page by Paul Caponigro, this title was produced in an edition of 225 copies, this being #61. Written, designed, printed, and bound by Michael Torosian. 67 pp. 8vo. Gray pastepaper covered boards with a design derived from a Caponigro photograph, gray linen cloth spine with gray paper label and silver titling. Clean within, with twenty-three of his photographs, beautifully produced and including one of his most famous photographs, "Running White Deer" as a gatefold. No dust jacket, as issued.
