Loosely inserted is an advertising - leaf by the publisher, dated "Nollaig, 1952". Excellent condition with some minor signs of wear only. Tarlach Ó hUid was an active member of Conradh na Gaeilge and the IRA in the 1930's and 1940's. He wrote his first novel An Bealach chun an Bhearnais (1949) whilst in internment. He also worked as a journalist for Inniu 1948–1984, he was also worked as an editor from 1972 onwards. His works include Taobh Thall den Teorann (1950), shorts stories, novels such as An Dá Thrá (1952) and Adios (1975); Rachtanna feirge, bróin agus grá (1978). Very good condition with only minor signs of external wear. Sir William Hamilton KB, PC, FRS (12 January 1731 – 6 April 1803) was a Scottish diplomat, antiquarian, archaeologist and vulcanologist. After a short period as a Member of Parliament, he served as British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Naples from 1764 to 1800. He studied the volcanoes Vesuvius and Etna, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society and recipient of the Copley Medal. Hamilton began collecting Greek vases and other antiquities as soon as he arrived in Naples, obtaining them from dealers or other collectors, or even opening tombs himself. Nearly 20 years ago, poet Kathleen Norris and her husband moved from New York to the isolated town of Lemmon in northwestern South Dakota, home of her grandparents.
