With a colophon label affixed to the front pastedown, noting that edition consisted of 126 numbered copies signed by Patchen, as here.

Paper cover chipped, spine perished (some pieces preserved); some spotting and toning to front. 8vo, unpag.; stiff wrappers with delicate printed paper cover. One of 200 copies in the regular issue. An uncommon Divers Press book owing to its extreme fragility.

San Francisco: Barbwire Press, 1970. First edition. Bit of offsetting to rear wrapper; fine. 8vo, 53pp; wrappers, stapled. This play, written by Cluchey while he was serving a term in San Quentin Prison,and published here five years after his release, was the inaugural -- and apparently only --publication of Barbwire Press, dedicated to literary work produced behind bars. The author won early release owing in large part to his literary promise and founding of the San Quentin Drama Workshop. He came to the attention of Samuel Beckett, who championed Cluchey and later featured him in some productions of his plays. Boldly inscribed and signed by Cluchey on the first leaf.

Cairo: The American University in Cairo Press, 1992. First English-language editions. Some slight marking to the edges of two volumes; a few small wormholes to the upper board-edges of Vol. 1, just about fine in clean, unfaded dust jacket with original price labels affixed to rear panels.. Three vols., uniform 8vos, 498, 422, 308pp; cloth-backed boards. These are the correct first editions in English, published in Egypt in the wake of Mahfouz's award of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1988. Loosely inserted in the first volume is a small card signed and dated by the author in 1989 and with a portrait photo of him clipped from a magazine and mounted to the card. A handsome set of Mahfouz's landmark trilogy.

A successful and well-subsidized monthly edited by Edgell Rickward and Douglas Garman, this inaugural number includes contributions by them, as well as the first part of D.H. Lawrence's "The Princess," poems by Robert Graves and Siegfried Sassoon, a new translation of a Dostoevsky letter by S.S. Koteliansky, and s tory by A.E. Coppard, along with book reviews by Bertrand Russell, W.J. Turner and Bertram Higgins.

Toronto: Coach House Press, 1978. First edition. Fine. 8vo, 60pp; wrappers, no clothbound issue. Presentation copy of the poet's third book, and first commercially published one, inscribed on the half title "For Mr. Middleton. From a long time admirer, August Kleinzahler." The recipient was the poet, writer, translator Christopher Middleton, who provided a blurb for the rear cover.

Spine lightened slightly, cloth showing some minor marks, otherwise just about fine without rare dust jacket.. 8vo, 346pp; black cloth, patterned endpapers. One of the least common titles in Pound's bibliography, largely owing to the fact that his name does not appear anywhere in the book. The translation was done by the poet, but he kept it uncredited as he did not think much of Estaunie's novel. Gallup A24.

Extensive monograph coinciding with Callahan's MOMA retrospective exhibition in 1976. This copy has been inscribed and signed by Callahan on the half title.

Los Angeles: Transport Workers Union #156, 1941. Evenly toned; few small chips, single word pencilled to upper corner; delicate. Mimeographed broadside, single leaf approx. 8-1/2 X 11 in. Bulletin board poster calling workers to a protest on July 30 1941 in support of transport workers who were being coerced to join a company union.

Neat ink notations - including date - on front; areas of toning near margins of cover leaf; general wear; good. 11 mimeographed leaves, 8-1/2 by 14 in., with cover leaf, stapled. An advance copy of the pamphlet that was issued by the council as "Can We Live with the Atom : An Answer by Scientists and Physicians.

Handbill depicting a check made out to "Italy" in the amount of $1 billion under the header: "News Item:- A representative of the Bank of America is in London to Form a Syndicate to Grant Credits to ITALY!!!" On the image of the check appears the note "For Purchase of Aerial Bombs to be dropped on the people of Spain

New York: Dodd, Mead 7 Co, 1901. First Edition. Gift inscription dated 1901; ownership stamp on front pastedown; lightly shelf-rubbed, else bright and near fine. 8vo, 127pp; decorative green cloth printed in gilt and three colors. A nice copy of this volume from Dunbar's important late series of books featuring Hampton Institute photographs. This copy is offered together with a copy of another volume in the sequence: Poems of Cabin and Field, albeit one from which the title page has been neatly excised, rendering impossible the determination of edition. The photographs cntained in these volumes comprise an important contrbution both to the history of photography and the representation of Black life at the end of the nineteenth century. Both volumes are from the library of photographer and photo-theorist Allan Sekula, with his ownership stamp in each.

Among the more ambitious works in Kent's long career, including 25 full-page two color woodcuts, reproduced by the Knudsen process of halftone lithography, along with dozens of decorative head- and tailpieces.
