The Marstallmuseum (Museum in the former royal stables ) in Munich is one of the most important museums for court carriages in the world. It is located in the South Wing of Nymphenburg Palace.
On display is a vehicle park from the time of the Bavarian and Palatine electors and kings of the House of Wittelsbach. The collection gives an extensive overview of the development of the carriages from the end of the 17th century to the end of the 19th century with exhibits from Germany, France and England. On display are forty royal and other representative coaches, barouches, sledges, litters and even a carousel.

Men Against the Sea is the second novel in the trilogy by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall about the mutiny aboard HMS Bounty. The novel first appeared in serial form in The Saturday Evening Post from November 18, 1933 through December 9, 1933, hence the copyright date of 1933. Men Against the Sea follows the journey of Lieutenant William Bligh and the eighteen men set adrift in an open boat by the mutineers of the Bounty. The story is told from the perspective of Thomas Ledward, the Bounty's acting surgeon, who went into the ship's launch with Bligh. It begins after the main events described in the novel and then moves into a flashback, finishing at the starting point.

Michael Shayne is a fictional private detective character created during the late 1930s by writer Brett Halliday. It was the title of a series of 12 films starring Lloyd Nolan, a radio series under a variety of names, between 1944 and 1953, and later in 1960-1961, a 32 episode NBC television series starring Richard Denning (1914–1998) in the title role.
 
Novels and short storiesShayne debuted in the novel Dividend on Death first published in 1939, written by Halliday, a pseudonym of Davis Dresser. Dresser wrote fifty Shayne novels, with the help of Ryerson Johnson.
