This book is filled with spectacular plane photos, mostly in formation. To mention just a few: Thunderbirds of the U.S. Air Force; Blue Impulse, 4th Air Wing from Japan; Blue Angels of the U.S. Navy; Snowbirds, 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, Canadian Forces Moose Jaw, Sask.; Patrouille De France, Commandement des Ecoles Base Aerienne 701-Cedex; Swallows, Belgian Air Force Acrobatic Team; Grasshoppers, Royal Netherlands Airforce Helicopter Display Team; Silver Falcons, South African Air Force Acrobatics Team; plus more. Average time that pilots remain in the team is 2 to 3 years.

Illus. by Jozef Wilkon. Translated into English by Anthea Bell. A wonderful story in which the circus owner would not let the animals perform acts that they wanted to do, not the silly, repetitive acts they had had to do for many years. The clown wanted to tell stories; the donkey was tired of pretending to be stubborn. So they turned and marched out of the ring. Ferdinand the dancing pony did the same thing; Louise the Giraffe, Gus the Lion, and Otto the dog didn't even came into the ring. The six rebels packed up their belongings and left the circus that very night. They would find a place to have their own circus. They could do things that they wanted to do, and they did, much to the delight of the families in that town.

The oldest buildings portrayed in this book date from around 1860. the youngest from 1914. Author/artist Rudi Dangelmaier has given us dozens of paintings in this book of early B.C. wooden structures. Thank goodness, because many of these early structures are now gone. The grey front endpapers have a gift inscription on the right side, and a name plate on the left side with name and address of the people who received the book.

1st Edition of the 875 unsigned copies (this being # 333), published at the same time as the first 75 signed copies. 10 Robert Pilot illustrations in a refreshingly Blue-on-White format rather than the usual Black-on-White. Includes a 3-page Index and a large, fold-out Blue-on-White map with one short, taped tear, o/w like new.

1st Canadian Edition (printed and bound in Canada, on the copyright page). Some wear on corners and bottom edges; a crease present on pages 3 to 15, possibly during the binding of the book (very doubtful if the pages were torn and then repaired because the text on these pages is too perfect). Still a Very Good copy in a Poor jacket with some chipping and repairs and discolouration. And still, it's nice to have the d.j. even in this condition. A perennial favourite.

All corners are bumped. A Good Only copy but an uncommon title by this author, possibly because many of the original copies had the same problem. Only a few copies on Abebooks and Biblio.
