There is light foxing especially the endpapers and edges of the pages but the contents are unmarked and the binding is tight. The dust jacket is torn away in the area of the previously mentioned damage, has been price clipped, and is lightly foxed.

Harvest at Stillmeadow, back in 1940, introduced me to Gladys Taber and her Connecticut home place -- to her family and her dogs. Since then in various books, Especially Spaniels, and Stillmeadow Kitchen and Flower Arranging for the American Home, I've come to feel as though I knew the whole household intimately. And yet there is still delight, and a sense of discovery, a quiet charm, a wholesome philosophy of living to be found in this "almanac" of Stillmeadow -- a round-the-calendar record of things happening, of moods, of the relation of Stillmeadow to the outside world. A book to recommend to people who need- for the space of a few hours- to find peace.
