The original Wrightson cover art was created in acrylic on illustration board with an image area of 14" x 20.5". This cover from the periodical measures approximately 5.5" x 7.5" and is preserved for display in the 6.25" x 8.25" frame. A chilling piece of Stephen King influenced art by horror master Bernie Wrightson for the April 26th- May 2nd, 1997, TV Guide Stephen King special. This issue promoted the ABC miniseries for The Shining which starred Steven Weber as the alcoholic writer, Jack Torrance. Beautifully signed by Stephen King at title page: "Stephen King, 5/3/80." Underscored, and with line through printed name. Rare early signature contemporaneous with the printing of this title. Very attractive. Signed at the Kubla Khan-ate Convention held May 2-4, 1980 which featured Stephen King, artist Boris Vallejo, and 4E Ackerman. Included is ephemera from signee: an original 3.5" X 4.5" photograph of SK and Vallejo with printed details at back, and an event name tag. Kubla Khan were a series of conventions in Nashville founded by Ken Moore under the auspices of the Middle Tennessee Science Fiction Society.
