Unclipped jacket has heavy edgewear with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips, and creasing. Mild foxing. Moderate tanning to spine. Notable rubbing and marking all over.

Includes portraits of his then wife Elizabeth Jane Howard, as well as fellow writers like Gavin Maxwell and well known figures such as Princess Margaret and actor James Robertson Justice. Peter Scott was the son of the explorer Captain Robert Falcon Scott, "Scott of the Antarctic". Larger format: 290 by 220mm (11½ by 8¾ inches). Beige marl cloth is clean and neat. Dust jacket is edge worn with some small areas of loss that do not affect the titles or the portrait of Mary Wingate to the front. Foxed to prelims with faint, scattered foxing to plates, mainly to the margins. Good+, sound copy in good dust jacke . Hardback. 1949.

The drawings have been done in pencil/charcoal.
