From the collection of Ian Angus, British Librarian and scholar on George Orwell, whose name and date are pencilled to FEP. Jacket is sunned, particularly the spine. Edges are creased and nicked, including a few small tears. Small nick noted on the lower spine, front side. Score to the rear board, and spine is cocked. Page block is lightly blemished. Top edge of text block is tinted a pale blue, through which is visible minor traces of foxing, faint stain affecting only the outer upper edge of the front edge of the text block, and shelf marks to the base edge of the text block. The dust jacket is chipped, and rubbed, with some fading of the back strip section, and an abrasion mark in the middle of the illustration on the front panel.
