Brice, Chief Justice of New Mexico, who was saved from assassination by Harkey; The End of Jim Miller and friends, hung by a mob at Ada, Oklahoma; and D. R. (Dee) Karkey, who has been shot at more times than any man in the world not engaged in war. Line drawings by Gene Roberts. Dark blue cloth with red lettering, red map endpapers, in color illustrated dustjacket. Slight lean tospine else fine in very good dustjacket (wear and chips to extremities; light fading to spine; slight darkening to covers). Dee Harkey was a peace officer in the West from age 15, in 1882, until 1911. Here is a narrative of his personal experiences dealing with "...men mean as hell."
