A near very good copy in publisher's red cloth with gilt HD emblem on front board and title in gilt on spine. Previous owner's name on half title. Many black and white photographs. Maps. 287 pages. Fair dustwrapper which is chipped at top of spine, rubbed at side of spine and with a number of tears. The wrapper is price-clipped and is protected in a removable cover.

Roy. 8vo., First Edition, with frontispiece, plates and maps, neat contemporary inscription on front free endpaper; original divisioal red cloth, upper board with divisionsl insignia blocked in gilt, gilt back, a near fine copy in unclipped dustawrapper, the latter with small loss (not affecting lettering) at head and tail of backstrip. Crisp copy of a standard reference chronicling the service of one of the most famous Allied divisions of WWII. Following the well-documented sacrifice of the original division at Dunkirk, the rebuilt unit served with great distinction in North Africa, Sicily and throughout North-West Europe.
