(There were also Roman Numeral, Lettered, and Numbered editions, the first two of which are nearly unobtainable at this point. Some numbered copies can be had for $2000+.)

NOTE: The original first edition was titled Nineteen Eighty-Four and was published in 1949 by Secker and Warburg in the UK and Harcourt, Brace in the US and subsequently made into a feature film released in 1984 starring Richard Burton as O'Brien and John Hurt as Winston Smith, and directed by Michael Radford.
