Clean with age appropriate toning, and tanning. Mild shelf wear, Mostly to corner edges. Spine is intact. Gold lettering is still discernible. No DJ.

These larger style hardcover books have a total of 1768 pages. The bindings are strong with all pages firmly attached. The pages are clean with no soiling, writing, or tears. The copyright page shows 1957 as the published date. These are definitely Not former library books. The dust jackets show general edgewear and there is some light rubbing on the DJ spines (No Chips). I have placed the DJs in fresh mylar jackets and this old Two Volume Set looks and feels great! We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!

G/none, used, red colored cloth binding with gilt text to spine, spine sunned, viii-xviii, 1768pp. Ex-library book with the usual stamps and library markings inside, no card pocket but a reference library sticker still attached to the ffep, remains of a paper sticker to the bottom of the spine. Binding is started and not tight although all pages still bound in. The head and the tail of the spine is frayed slightly. Very heavy book and may require extra postage. Revised edition

First published in 1892, Julian is still among the most cited of all hymnology works. First volume covers A to O, the second volume P to Z. NOT your usual worn ex-library set, as are most on the market.

The outer edge of the spine is exposed in Volume 1 and the front board warped, there is also a gift inscription on the front end paper.
