The Peter Rudland dust jacket art conveys the gloomy ambience of a deserted city street - deserted but for a couple dragging a corpse. See HUBIN, p. 221, who cites this as being first published by Lippincott, and that "William Irish" was one of two pen-names used by Cornell Woolrich; the other was "George Hopley." Dust jacket is now protected in a clear, removable archival sleeve.

Jacket still looks impressive, but has closed tears & some loss to edges, worst affected at top of spine, & has been intermittently reinforced with tape on the reverse.
