Hudson (1841-1922) grew up in Buenos Aires and was an ornithologist and poet of international recognition. He spent many years in Patagonia studying the flora and fauna.

Contemporary ownership signature of author Cornelius Weygandt on the titlepage. Weygandt wrote several books, mostly on New Jersey and Pennsylvania history. Important travel book in a rare jacket.
